2025 LEGISLATION
Meredith sponsored the following bills, which were signed into law by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham this year:
HB 20 - Technology and Innovation Division: Provides early-stage capital and financial support to New Mexico start-ups to drive economic innovation in target sectors
SB 37 - Strategic Water Reserve: Positions an existing state water conservation program to better address New Mexico’s growing water challenges
SB 169 - Strategic Economic Development Site Readiness: Creates a fund to identify and pre-develop ideal business locations, helping companies more easily relocate and/or expand
SB 170 - NMFA Definitions, Funds & Rates: Streamlines the process for utilities interested in pre-deploying infrastructure to ensure our regional competitiveness
HB 203 - Use of State Devices of CYFD Business: Improves data retention requirements at the Child, Youth, and Families Department (CYFD) to improve transparency and accountability, and was rolled into SB 42, a CYFD reform package
HB 205 - CYFD Nominating Committee: Enhances accountability at various CYFD programs, including increasing oversight of the CARA program for substance-exposed newborns, also rolled into SB 42
HB 458 - Carbon Dioxide Storage Stewardship Act: Establishes a fund for the storage of sequestered carbon dioxide paid for by the operator, creating more regulatory certainty for this emerging industry while supporting New Mexico’s ambitious emissions reduction targets
